Ok, now before we start may I tell you that these are test images just to try and see if the lights work or not.
During the Covid-19 lock down we all start to think of what else we can do, I have some studio lights, as I used to do family and pet images from my home but I have not done this for a long time, in fact my back drop was still wrapped up from when we moved to Australia back in 2014 and my Prolinca lights I had, were second hand back in 2010-11, so you can see what I am up against before I even start.
Surprisingly the white backdrop didn’t need much of a clean, now it’s a case of trying to remember how it all sets up and sync’s up with my gear without spending anything.
So far so good, the trigger works, that’s good, now let’s see if it works with the camera, answer to that is no, not sure why but after a day or so I give it another go and hey, the trigger works, the camera is syncing up and hey we have success.
A cup of coffee later, nothing is working again but alas a different problem, no lights, whether it is one or two, nada, nothing.
I tried all variations but to no avail, took the receiver apart, because of course I know what to look for and how to mend it, not. After receiving an electric shot I decided to call it a day but when I was playing with the dismantled receiver one light started to work, although intermittently.
The reassuring thing is that I have the lights working, the camera also, the trigger and receiver is now a problem but fingers crossed this is an easy and cheap fix.
While trying all this out I had my very impatient son, Ayrton with me, just so I could get a feel to see how things were, and being the poser he is he obliged very well.
In-between trying to get everything to work, I managed a few frames of him, the lights were not set up they were in a place where they were not in the way, so please do not comment on where and how the lights should be, this was not my concern, but I do like his posing, made me laugh, and with everything that is going off just lately that doesn’t happen very often.
Thanks Ayrton.
